We were invited to come to a family Vacation Bible School by Daniel's parents at their church. I was super excited because as a child i never got to go to VBS. Plus this wasn't any regular VBS it was a full out production, transforming the back property of the church into Jerusalem in biblical times. All the families were broken into the 12 tribes of Isreal and we got to be in the same tribe as Daniel's parents, aunt & uncle, and his cousins. It was fun to do everything together as one big family. It was so neat how they had tents set up as venders and at each shop we learned something new like: basket weaving, bread making, rope making, wood work, potry, net making, jewlry making and so much more. Sienna really enjoyed all the differnt things we did. We also got to play some fun games. On the second day the were teaching the kids how to throw a stick like a javalin, Sienna thought this was the best thing ever.
We were able to go to two out of three of the days, Sienna has been teething and didn't sleep well on saturday night and was in no shape to go on sunday night. I was bummed because i know how much she would have been able to go to the last day. Nonetheless we had a wonderful family experiance and learned so much about how people lived in biblical times and how awesome our God is! So if your church has a VBS or a church near you does, GO! It's worth it.
